Farewell 2017, Welcome 2018

I’m willing to bet I’m not the only one who’s head is spinning at the end of this year.  At the national level, it’s been a bit of an insane year.  As for me, 2017 seems in many ways like the year that didn’t happen.  Honestly, I have no idea where it went.  I’ve developed the habit of establishing a theme or two for the new year when it comes around, and this past year was the year of sustainability and purpose.  Now it’s the end of the year, and it seems like those efforts still need some work.

There were some specific goals I accomplished, though, namely finishing at least one painting, reading more, journaling more, and finally going to a dentist after having avoided doing so since moving to California.  So, I still got to check some new years goals off the list.  I’m going to give sustainability and purpose another shot for 2018, though, and as for specific goals, 2018 is going to be the year I take up sailing.

Happy New Year!
